Engineers' Response to Terrorist Attacks on Web-based Video
A 25-minute electronic presentation co-sponsored by NSPE, American Engineers Respond, summarizes the response of professional engineers across the U.S. following the attacks of September 11, 2001.The presentation includes comments from Louis J. Errichiello, P.E., chair of the NSPE Critical Infrastructure Homeland Security Task Force.

Task Force Presented at NSPE Meeting
The NSPE Board of Directors, along with representatives from several other national engineering organizations, heard a presentation on the Texas Engineers Task Force on Homeland Security on July 16 in Orlando, FL.
Earnest Gloyna, PE, chair of the task force, was joined by Dan Wittliff, PE and Ken Rigsbee, PE in making the presentation at the request of NSPE President Howard Blitman, PE. Blitman said the Texas task force could become a model for other state societies to follow in assisting government entities with homeland security efforts.
"Engineers in Texas are demonstrating that they are ready to help and ready to go to work," Blitman said.

Engineers Plan to Provide Technical Assistance
The Texas Engineers Task Force on Homeland Security was formed following the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on our nation. At the request of Texas Land Commissioner David Dewhurst, this Task Force will provide technical assistance to the Governors Task Force on Homeland Security to help prepare our state for threats, acts of terrorism and natural disasters.

GOAL: The goal of the Texas Engineers Task Force on Homeland Security is to assemble the expertise of engineers and related experts in Texas into an organized entity capable of providing technical assistance and responding effectively to threats, acts of terrorism and natural disastors.
The engineers task force is comprised of five statewide response teams, each led by a Team Director and two Deputy Directors.
